1LINEWED PREVIEWS

#1LineWed is a Twitter trend where a weekly prompt is posted by @RWAKissofDeath and authors share a sample of their WIP. I thought it would be fun to share the tweets related to my current sci-fi project with you.

To give a little background, it’s a YA novel set in a near-future world where people can convert to roids. It stars a snarky transgender teen named Ash who decides to transfer to a male body after an accident. It follows him as he adjusts to this new life, meanwhile conspiracy stuff is going down in the background that he gets tangled up in. It’s all meant to be light and fun – queer teens deserve adventures too!

PROJECT DISNEYFY

I have this little pet project where I Disneyfy LGBTQ+ characters from my favourite books, so here is a compilation of art. There’s not enough praise in the world for these stories… Honestly, I can’t recommend them enough. If you’re looking for more queer books to read, feel free to friend me on Goodreads for updates.

Illustrations will be added sporadically (and sketches will slowly turn into digital art). Hope you enjoy!

RED PEN CAFÉ

Hey everyone – this has been an exciting week! The fine folk over at The Red Pen Café have invited me for an author interview where we talk about coffee, the inspiration behind Stay With Me, and reveal exclusive details about my new sci-fi project.

If you haven’t already, I highly recommend checking the blog out. The Red Pen Café is hosted by indie author Eli Summers and his manager Rebecca King. They are a dedicated pair focused on GLBT self-publishing authors and have quite a collection of reviews to help you find your next read. Don’t forget to follow them on twitter and keep updated!

GRAND OPENING

Hawke_Hello

Greetings everyone! I’m Kira Hawke and this is where I’ll be posting all the latest news on my writing. I’m currently working on a sci-fi story about a transgender teen who transitions to a roid after an assassination attempt. So far it’s been a blast –Ash is turning out quite snarky– and I hope you get a similar experience out of it.

Until then, I have a free short story that you can use to get a good vibe. Stay With Me is available on Amazon and many other online shops.

Hope to see you around!
